What is JSON-LD schema markup?
Schema markup is structured data you add to a web page so search engines understand exactly what the page is about — a business, an article, an FAQ, and so on. Google recommends the JSON-LD format: a small block of code that sits inside a <script type="application/ld+json"> tag. Done right, it can unlock rich results such as star ratings, FAQ accordions, breadcrumbs and knowledge-panel details.
How to use this generator
- Pick a schema type at the top: LocalBusiness, Organization, Article, FAQPage or Breadcrumb.
- Fill in the fields. Empty fields are simply left out of the output.
- The JSON-LD rebuilds live on the right. Click Copy to grab the whole block.
Where to paste it
Paste the copied <script> block into the <head> of the matching page (the body works too). Use LocalBusiness on your contact or homepage, Article on blog posts, FAQPage where you answer common questions, and Breadcrumb to mirror your navigation path.
Run your markup through Google’s Rich Results Test and the Schema.org validator to confirm it’s error-free and eligible for rich results. Need a hand across your whole site? See our SEO services or browse the full free tool set.
